Special care was taken on this eight classroom addition to Polk City Elementary to ensure the new building matched the existing campus.
The staff of Henkelman Construction, Inc. worked closely with School Board personnel and the architect to complete this 27,000 square foot project prior to the new school year. We phased the project and worked off-hours to facilitate the Owner's schedule.
Henkelman Construction, Inc. converted the existing 13,000 square foot gymnasium and locker room at Lewis Elementary into a new cafeteria with a full-service kitchen. All new windows, doors and finishes, along with electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems were installed. Care was taken to utilize and preserve the original bowstring trusses.
The 40,000 square foot renovation of the Northeast Polk County Government Center was completed using the Fast Track method to meet the aggressive ninety day deadline. Henkelman Construction, Inc. worked with Polk County as a complete team in attaining our goals and in resolving difficult issues as they arose.
Henkelman Construction, Inc. was contracted by the Diocese of Orlando to construct 9,000 square feet of new classroom space. The project consisted of exterior block walls with stucco finish, and interior metal studs with drywall. It included two classrooms, an art room, and a science room. The project was built to accommodate a future elevtor and a second floor.
The 10,900 square foot addition for Stephens Elementary School included eight (8) new classrooms, and a new aluminum covered walkway. The project was completed on time and under budget.
